I was promised that a letter outlining my funding denial would be sent to me in a span of 7 to 10 days. The letter arrived last evening, stating that the credit bureau had reported my death. Why am I being reported as deceased by the credit bureau even though I am still alive? For my application to be accepted, how can I demonstrate that I am alive? When I attempted to contact the bank, they informed me that they were unable to authorize anything as long as I had this statement on my report. Is it necessary for me to seek legal counsel? Does anyone in Alabama have a positive experience to share?

It is important to realize that erroneous information reported by credit agencies is not always their responsibility. They only compile the data, and occasionally it transpires that the supplier is presenting inaccurate data. The Social Security Agency may also mistakenly report you as deceased in this instance, in addition to the possibility that the CRA was inaccurate. Sending the bureau a disagreement letter is a good idea as your application won't be accepted unless you fix your report. Yes, you may employ a lawyer, but I advise you to read this article first: https://consumerattorneys.com/article/experian-deceased.
